The Asian Cities Chess Team Championship 2024 will be held in the modern building of the Ugra Chess Academy located in the very center of the city. The games will be held in a tournament hall designed to host major chess events. The hall is located on the second floor of the Academy building.

World Cup
Khanty-Mansiysk has hosted 5 World Chess Cups. The city held its first World Chess Cup in 2005, with more tournaments to follow in 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2019
Chess Olympiad
In 2010, from September 20 to October 4, the city of Khanty-Mansiysk hosted the 39th World Chess Olympiad, which brought together 153 teams and 1,306 registered players
World Championship
In 2014, the city of Khanty-Mansiysk hosted the World Women's Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships for the first time. This was followed by the World Junior Championship in 2015, the World Youth Championship for Boys and Girls under 14, 16, 18 in 2016 and the World Women's Chess Championship in 2018
Grand Prix FIDE
For 3 years in a row, Ugra hosted the Grand Prix tournaments. The Women's Grand Prix took place in 2014, the Men's Grand Prix in 2015 and the 4th stage of the FIDE Women's Grand Prix in 2016

Candidates Tournament
In 2014, Khanty-Mansiysk hosted the international Candidates Tournament

In December 2023, the International Rapid Chess Tournament was held between the teams of Ugra and Mongolia. This tournament marked the beginning of the expansion of international cooperation between Ugra and ACF
